smoked/flavoured salt
Only large grain salts go into our flavoured and smoked salts. This allows the smoke to flow through all cavities (or “flavour caves”) in the coarse grain to trap in more flavour during the smoking process.
A love of spicy foods also got me playing around one night with what would later become our sriracha salt. It has a kick of that classic sriracha flavour that gets slowly infused into the salt over a 1-2 day drying cycle.

its history
As a big fan of barbecuing, I was really interested when one of my best friends introduced me to smoked salts. I found that I took very quickly to the hobby of smoking, and having a legitimate reason to justify owning a smoker to my wife. And with that, smoked hickory salt was born.
After those flavours starting to take off, that same friend asked the question that created our single most popular product: “What would happen if you smoked the sriracha salt?” The combination of the sriracha and hickory smoke ended up being a flavour explosion trapped in each grain.
Since we launched smoked sriracha salt (or “bacon candy” as our vegan friends call it) in late 2015, it has taken off, and is at times hard to keep on the shelves. The 12-hour hickory smoke cycle that all of our smoked salts go through, brings down the spice intensity of the sriracha leaving a nice blend of smoky and spicy tastes.
