We have some friends and family who are cocktail and/or caesar enthusiasts, so when Christmas came around, keeping the theme of making gifts handmade whenever we can, we decided to make some cocktail rimmers!
While the original recipes they're adapted from are intended for caesars, they work well with any clear spirits like vodka, rum and tequila.

We debated for awhile about selling these pre-made, but the process of jarring them was proving difficult due to the fact that water-bath sealing the jars seemed to compress the contents and form into a solid clump, which is not ideal for a rimmer. And they're simple enough to make that we decided to share the recipe and focus on the things we already make!
Of course you can always play around with these recipes as well, substituting smoked sriracha salt or adjusting things to taste!
Spicy Rimmer
1/4 cup sriracha salt
2 Tbs black pepper
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 Tbs garlic powder
1. Grind sriracha salt to desired texture, either with salt grinder or mortar and pestle
2. Combine all ingredients
3. Store in a 250mL mason jar

Smoky Rimmer
1/4 cup black pepper/cracked peppercorns
1/4 cup hickory smoked salt
2 Tbs garlic powder
2 Tbs onion powder
1. Grind peppercorns (if using them)
2. Grind smoked salt to desired texture, either with salt grinder or mortar and pestle
3. Combine all ingredients
4. Store in a 250mL mason jar
